Airwolf 3D Announces Issuance of US Patent for Auto-Leveling System

Las Vegas, NV (May 4, 2021) Airwolf 3D, a research and development and manufacturing company focused on additive manufacturing, today announces the issuance of United States Patent No. 10,994,480 directed to an auto-leveling system for a three-dimensional printer. This proprietary technology is applicable to additive manufacturing centers.

3D Printer Auto-Leveling System Enhances Reliability

The patent is assigned to Wolf and Associates Inc. and part of an intellectual property portfolio held by Wolf and Associates Inc. that includes several issued patents, trademarks, and numerous patent applications relating to HD, Axiom, and Evo 3D printers, Wolfbite bed adhesives and Hydrofill soluble support, to which Airwolf 3D has exclusive rights in the US and major international markets.

Auto leveling makes it easier to ensure a level build surface without having to manually calibrate a printer at the start of each print job. The system ensures that the print head is always moving parallel to the build plate.  Auto-leveling has been a hallmark of the industrial-strength Axiom and Evo line of 3D printers since their inception.

“To build parts consistently a contemporary 3D printer must have an auto-leveling system.  Manually calibrating a bed is akin to hand-cranking an engine.  Airwolf 3D’s enclosed printers use a proprietary leveling system that includes a sliding bed that will automatically do this leveling for you.” said Erick Wolf, President of Airwolf 3D. “Throughout the print, our system is determining the distance between the print bed and the nozzle and actively leveling the machine for you.”

Airwolf3d has been manufacturing industrial additive manufacturing printers in the United States since its inception in 2012.
